There was a man. Was, that is a sad word....

When I was little he was the giver of hugs, bite size candy bars, wagon rides behind the lawn mower, totino's pizzas and ice cream sandwiches (if you were good, or maybe just lucky you might get two ice cream sandwiches!).

He was the one who told me about the “Sound of Music”, I don’t know how many time a saw that movie sitting on the floor of the living room with my hand in an over sized jar of cashews. He loved me and I knew it.

He would take us kids to see his goats, ask us to pick the pairs off the tree in the back.

He would ware a dishtowel in the front of his shirt when he eat. He said he did it because once when I was small I told him he should, “that would keep his shirt clean”. (I have no idea why I would ever give anyone advice on neat eating especially as a kid)

He loved me, he loved his two sons, he loved his five grandchildren, and he loved his 23 great-grandchildren. He served 22 years in the US Cost Guard. He had sailed around the world multiple times. He lived through World War 2 as an active military man.

Grady Lee wenthome yesterday morning. But before that he never stopped living.

I have always like this photo of Grandpa. This is the way helived his life. He was confident. Even in the last few days of his life I thinkhe still saw himself as this robust young sailor. He never gave up.

I am in the middle of a little adventure.

Spending time with family and soon to be with friends. Riding incars, flying in planes, lots of fun walks and buckets and buckets of icecream. :D

In the middle of all of this I have been thinking.

Thinking a lot about what it means to be"grown up".

I always thought it was some big thing that would happen and youwould just feel, "all grown up".

But, I still do not feel “grown up”.

So I think that I have decided that I will always feel like a kidon an adventure, rather than a grown up doing grown up things.

And, I am ok with that.

we spent Christmas on the beach."

The last Christmas I spent on the beach was a long time ago.

I was about this little guy's age.

I was three.

I played in the sand and fed the sea gulls.

Our family was at the beach that year because of a wedding.

A lot has happend since that wedding.

Lots can happen in twenty years :)

The two people that got married now have a family and ours has grown as well.

There are about....19 more kids between our two families :D

We're not crazy, really we're not ;)

The kids are little and big. Highschool, college, married, and some still have on diapers. Big and diverse families.

I am so blessed to be a part of this craziness.

This has been an amazing Christmas.

We have made lots of memories on the beach this week.

Lots of sandy ones, that will stay with us all for another twenty years.

One lovely fall weekend a good
friend and I took a little road trip
to a little school in the mountains.....

The school is one of my favorite places on earth.

Here it is normal and natural to see dancing, hear live bluegrass music,
and people doing what they do best;
being themselves.

Nothing makes me happier.

People dance because they like to, people sing because they want to,
and they smile because the are being real.

I like real.

By looking to the past and valuing things like dance, music and
the old storys it brings color and life to today.

I love the mountains. I wish I could talk to them. Man, what great storys
they would have to tell.

They could tell us what things were really like.
What we are missing and what things they like better about today.

But, one thing I think they would always say is they like to see people who are happy.
I think that is important too.

I have been meaning to post this for sOoo long! So I have decided to just do it :D And one of the things that was stopping me was that I am not very good at making the photos bigger....it takes me a while. But, to my great delight blogger has made it SoOo much simpler to do :D That is a very happy thing.

So with that said "Ladies and Gentlemen please meet "Noel & Darell"

The funnest couple of the year! If that was an award they would win it every year, for real.

But, just because they are fun does not mean they are not also super sweet.

But still fun :D

And so much in love

and then more fun.

We took their photo at the places that meant something to them.

Where they had their first date and places that were full of memories

and I am sure they are all really happy ones ;)

Would it not be soOo cool to say you live here, just a drive down the road.

"No big deal.." Ahhh!

Oh and I did not tell you, so maybe you should guess. Is this a "we are in love" photo shoot? An "engagement" shoot? What do you think?

Would you believe me if I told you they are going on three years? Of marriage that is. They have been married for two and a half years :D

It is wonderful to see how much they truly love each other.

I loVeD this! I was taking photos of their feet and Noel was watching the water and Darell was watching Noel. Well, she saw the wave coming and took a big step back. But...she forgot to tell Darell leaving her man standing in the waves.

As we were finishing up the shoot the sun started to go down.

It made everything so soft and so perfect

Then they just had to be even more cute...really guys, you have already won!

This was Noel's idea :) and I love the shoes - so classic.

Then God decided to show them just how much He loves them too.

As the sun set, they looked at each other and it was perfect. Nothing but a God who loves us all this much could have done something like this.

As we stood there on the beach with the amazing sunlight that God had sent just for them I thought about "Pride and Prejudice". In the "new" one this same thing happens! :D

The sun is at the most perfect spot it could be and the most perfect moment ever,

And Mr. Darcy tells Elizabeth how much he loves her, and she tells him she loves him back :D

This was Mark and Meredith’s Big Day :D

When Meredith first asked me to take photos for the Photo booth she told me they would “pin a sheet to the wall”. Well……when I got to the reception venue, they had done just a little more decorating than simply pinning a sheet on the wall ;)

Everyone was so happy!

How could everyone not help but be happy! Everything was perfect. The flowers, the food all of it :D People slowly started to make there way over to the booth to see what was going on……”so what is this ?” they would ask. I would explain that {because this was the coOleSt wEdDinG they had ever been t0o} it was a photo booth! and it was here so they could have there photo taken! They could get a little crazy and just have a good time! And it was just for fun! I love Fun. Fun is always a good thing :D

It was great to see people and all there different personalities!

Some were a little crazy!

Some were simple.

But every one had fun!

I loved the family’s.

The sweet couples.

The fun and crazy friends.

And the kids :D I. loved. Kids.

It was all so much fUn!! :D

What was your day like today? I went to church, and came home to a great lunch with my family.

This was all with no fear.

When I was a little girl and still today I have everything I need. I have never had a need that has not been met. It is such a blessing to living in America. But to make America the place it is lots and lots of people have made BIG sacrifices.

Here is an example of just one of the many sacrifices that have been made.

Meet Whit and Joy!

The each live up too there names. That are full of Whit and Joy. {I'm so punny! }

We had so much fun at this shoot. They braved the heat and smiled all the while.

There smiles are real. I love real.

Speaking of real. We had a realLY legit shoot location.

An 1850's plantation home with impeccable grounds that we are welcome to wander all around? Ummm..Ya a photographer can deal with that :D

They are to much fun. Did I saw that already? It's true.

I think it runs in the family. {Jk!}

O, Did I say they were my sisters?

Joy.

Her heart is as big as Texas.

If you did not know Texas is a really BIG place.

Her smile will lite up any room.

She is smart, funny and (drum roll please..) witty!

I have not met a person in my life that is more witty, driven and stubborn.

She makes up her mind to do something and that is what she does.

There are not two ways about it.

And that is exactly what she did!

Ummm....Ya girls!

When we were little girls Daddy friends would say that he had enough girls for a softbal team.

Then they started saying that one day Daddy would have to follow us around with the softball bat, because of all the little boys that would be following behind. They were just kidding ;)

Well I think that day has must definitely come.

Our little country town needs to look out.

These girls are gorgeous, theres no two ways about it. But it's not only what you see on the outside.

What makes them glow is what is inside them. What you see is real, they are genuine. Threw and threw. What they believe they live. Evidence of this is seen in what they live everyday.

These grils that I am so blessed to call my sisters have a beauty that will never fade.

Sorry that I have not bloged in so long!

I came home the first week of May. It seems like that was only a little while ago. Since I have been home I have also not been “home” that much. I have not left the states but I have gone on a mission trip, spent time with my sister and her husband in FL, and taken a trip to NC. Few! This has been a wonderful summer!

Something that is suPpeR exciting {to quote a photo teacher}is that I have a new computer! {happy dance!!} With it I can do so much more with my photos. ~I am by no means a pro at using it yet but I am having so much fun.

These are a few pics of things that I do and see each day.

This is the "planner book" that I wright evEryThiNg in. It is full of fun things, homework reminders, notes to myself, doodles, (the ones that I started making while I was in biology class last semester) and the like.

These are two of my friends. Jason and Megan. We were outside thh school to take a group photo and they were still studying for a test they had that afternoon. They are such good students :)

And these are my friends Ian and Sarah. They are also standing in the front of our school. I thought this was a fun pic. (And Sarah is a mess...just so you know)

Since we are on the topic of friends, this is my little friend...I know, I know- you can't see her face. But...it's an Art-sey pic :) We play together a lot, I really enjoy spending time with her.

This is me. And this is the view from the top of the mt. that is over our school. We went to the modern art museum to see the Alberto Giacometti show (which was faBuLoUs b.t.w.) and museum is on top of the mt.

Ya.....This is were I have lived for the past three months.

This is day 91, (I think that is right) and it feels like it has gone by so fast. But then it seems like I have been here for a really long time. Thinking that I will be home in three weeks is...almost like thinking about a dream that you had last night. I have loved and am still loving my stay here but I have been thinking about home more lately.Each day I am becoming more and more excited about seeing my family. May the 6th is going to be a good day!!

So I don't do this much...well I have never done this before. So these are pics of me. I took them. Photos of myself.

I was enjoying the sunshine on top of the Moenchsberg and thought "I will try this taking pics of myself thing."

Like I said I have never done this before so it was kind of funny....and a little weird.

But they came out pretty funny...

We went for a walk up the Mt.

We found lots of fun stuff along the way.

Including the convent were Maria stayed...

And I thought this was really cool...and it just happened to be covered in moss. I have had a weird thing about liking moss.

More of the wall and there were some people that were climbing it...but I don't think they were very nice. (they said something to us in German that our teacher would not translate...)

Paris!

Ladys and Gentalman, we are off on our adventures and are you not impressed with our luggage? Three girls + more than 10 days = two backpacks and a small duffel and three sack lunches.

We took the night trane to Paris and this nice gental man surrounded us on the Subway in Paris while we were gong to out hotel. :D

WE ARE IN PARIS!!....so what should we do now? We pulled out our map and found our first destination.....

The Eifel Tower! Yay! Ok. I know this sounds really silly but the thing it HUGE! Like ReEaLlly Big! Way biger than i thought it would be.

We Took the eluvater up to the top. There is not way I could have made it to the top. Maybe if I had alll day to climb them I could have done it...

Sorry for not posting this sooner. We have left Paris and been to Italy are now in London. :D It has really been a great trip! When I get back to Salz. I

I should be doing home work right now but I really wanted to post this :D This is my friend Suzanne. We meet at church a few weeks ago. She is a medical student from France studding in Salzburg for the month of February.

We have had lunch together several time and also went to a ballet one night last week. {this county girl is geten' up in the world y'all} Last Sunday we met up and went to church together and then went to find things that you just have to do while you are in Salzburg. We got little squares of chocolate at a little coffee shop. (I think I got lunch today for the price of that piece of chocolate) Anyway it was worth it, it was great! Also it was recommended to us by a local, so you have to try things that are real...not just the little touristy stuff.

We also got a "Bosna". They are really good :D It is a sandwich with two worsts and curry powder. Yummy, Yummy! (I said the food was yummy after my first meal with my host family and ever since then my littlest host sister says it when anything is good. Top cute)

I have really enjoyed getting to know Suzanne. She is so sweet and full of joy. We walked around old town and eat our lunch and talked about traveling, Mozartkugeln, movies (the Janet Oak "love movies" and a Walk to Remember) and all other kinds of fun stuff. I was a great day.

Ps..Mozartkugeln is a chocolate candy that is named after Mozart, there are the real ones and then there are the FalSe ones! {duN,Dun dUn} The silver ones are real and the gold ones are not, but they are both good :) O, and they have always have Mozart's face on them.

Last week when I walked past Phoebe office (Phoebe is the school coordinator) she said, "Marigrace I have something for you!" She handed me a big fluffy envelope addressed to me in my Grandmothers handwriting! I was SOO excited !

The envelope was filled with sweet Valentine cards!

One was from Grandmother and one from each of my brothers and sisters :)

In my room there are little strings and pins to post things on the walls. As soon as I got home all the cards when on the walls. They make the room look so happy!

Grandmother even made a little card and took it to church and had all the kids in the Sunday school class that I taught sign it.

~My room is very happy now~

One Month {Jan 17th - Feb 17th}

I was talking to a good friend today and he pointed out that we all left a mouth ago today. It has been one full mouth!

One minuet it seems like so much longer and the next it seems like it all just started yesterday. I love thinking back on the things that happened at the very beginning of the trip. You had conversations with complete strangers, I thought I would never remember everyones names, there was the "new guy" and the toilets were really weird.

Now all of this stuff is normal and the strangers are my friends. I really like to think about the first time I talked with my new friends it is funny to think how little I knew them.

I would like you to meet just a few of my friends Here in Salzburg. We go to school together but we also do other funny stuff….like try to sit in hammocks, climb mountains, buy hats, miss the bus and eat lots and lots and lots of chocolate hazelnut cookies :D {yumm}

Two of my friends, Will and Jason live in a way cool house. They have the top floor/loft. But we all think it looks more like a tree fort :D There are hammocks and a spiral staircase…what more could you ask for?

Also there are little windows, and big windows, each of them have an amazing view. From them you can see the amazing mountains and the fortress :D

Snow shoeing….{I did WhAt!?}

They said this would be a good introduction to the snow. Skiing would be our next outing. I really did not think about it that much. It was a free something the for students so why not go, right? Well the morning of our little outing I started to think. We are going to a ski aria to hike…..So where exactly are we going to end up?

Well, what I thought would happen, happened. We hiked UP the mountain that the skiers were riding the nice little lift up.

We were just hiking up one of the Alps because we could.

Well…I got to the top I will just put it that way.{ Needless to say I was in the very back} When we got to the top I could not believe it, one I had actually made it to the top, and two the view was unreal.

You see post cards of things like this but this was real I could reach out and touch it.

We rested at the top for a while. {I thought I was going to die on the way out} Not really….but almost. Then we headed back down.

Our guide took us a way to a different “path” on the way down. He said this way would be shorter so we keep on schedule. This “path” was none other than the path that was cleared under the ski lift! If the locals thought seeing a bunch of Americans go up a mountain with snow shoes on was entertaining they should have seen us coming down. {O, wait they did…..} The people riding the lift got a good laugh.

O well....so much for not standing out. Believe it or not we did all mike it to the bottom. To be even more surprising there no one got hurt. There were a few bumps and bruises but that was about it.

The trek down the mountain was more falling and sliding than walking. We had five people pileups; someone got stuck under a tree, People lousing there ski poles, too many falls to count. All the while the locals are drifting by over head telling you “Hello” and waving to you.

I was glad that I went. I was not thinking this while I was on my way to the top. I say this and do not mean to be cliché but the view was amazing. I have heard people say it so many time but I get it know. With things like that you just have to see it yourself. I am so grateful that I have this experience. I pray that I will see all the opportunities it offers and take advantage of each of them.

My Host Family

Meet my Host Family!

Martin, Martina and there two little girls Laura and Lisa.

This is Laura. She is in Kindergarten. She will be 6 in March. She is lots of fun, she likes to draw, play with Lego's and ski :D I do not always know what she is saying but her English is much better than my German.

This is little Lisa. She is three. Me and her are learning German together. Martina said that by the time I leave we will both be fluent :D She is learning to ski and also likes to draw. She helps me with words and I help her. I think the funniest thing I have seen her do is when she is trying to get someones attention rather that yelling there name she will yell her own name.."Lisa, Lisa, Lisa!! Because of this it took me a while to figure out that she was Lisa, not Laura.

They are a mess! {In a good way}

They love to be funny and play with each other.

This morning while the girls were playing with there big Lego's Martin brought out some "new" Lego's. It was a big set of the small ones. They were the ones he played with when he was little. There were little cars with wind up motors and all sorts of fun stuff :D

The kids are big helpers in the kitchen :)

I am so blessed to be with this family. They involve me in conversation and everyday life. They have asked me several times if I need anything. When I am home from school they ask how my day was and what all is going on at school. Your host family is not asked to feed you lunch on the weekends but Martina has made it clear that I am always welcome to eat with them. I am so glad I have this opportunity to experience day to day life with an Austrian family.

This is the city he told me about.

Travel with his job took him to so many places around the world....

And he said he liked this place best.

He told me that his favorite memory of the city was renting a bike for the afternoon on his day off of work and riding along the river.

Now I see the places he talked about and understand what he wanted to say.

This city is filled with beauty and history.

The "him" that I have refured to is my Uncle, Uncle Bobby. He is a big part of our family. He is my Mothers little brother. The man my little brother is named after. He informed my Mother in the middle of our family's adoptshion that he was going to take off work to travel with her to Africa. (ps- he even bought the plane tickets with his personal flyer miles)

The week before last he got sick. What seemed like a bad headache turned out to be an internal head bleed. Please pray for him. He has been up and down. One hospital released him, the bleeding started again and he was admitted again. The Doctors operated yesterday to relieve the pressure from his head and now we are waiting. He has good moments and some that are not so good. Please pray for his recovery and strength. As well, please pray for the ones who are with him each day at the hospital. Pray for there strength, endurance and most of all for his healing.

Monday morning we were all greeted with over a ft of snow when we woke.

This is my bus stop!My house is yellow,but not the yellow one you can see in the photo it is behind it. I should post a photo of it soon. (So much to do!) Any way you go out of the driveway and make two left turns and there is the bus stop!

There was and still is so much snow and "shloush" on the sidewalks.

After I get off the bus I walk a block and I am at school! The school is by the red and white gate if you can see is back there. The school is built into the mountain. In the winter the snow sticks to the mountain and it could cause a rock slide. (There was a rock slide way back when) To prevent this from happening again men climb the mountain and cut away tree branches and check for rocks that could fall etc. It is like rock climbing meets tree surgeon. (Ohhh they should make a TV show about that! Jk)

This is the foyer of the school. Once you have walked through all of the muddy snow it would not be nice to the cleaning lady if we all kept on our boots. So we leave them with our coats by the door.

This is the library/big class room in the school. It is a really nice place to hang out, the view is amazing. Also, this room can be used as a work out facility......

The library is at the top of the school. So when you have gone up all 75 stares...I guess this would make the library more of a recovery room than a work out room. :D Any way, but the view is well worth the walk.

Behind the tree is the Sazach river. The water in the river is so clean and clear.

Here is another view of the city from the library window. On a day that is not so cloudy you can see the Alps that are in the not to fair distance. :D

olympic park

This was an afternoon last week while our group was in the Munich. We visited the place of the 1972 Olympic Games. I was very impressed by the architecture of this park. It was what I would consider cutting edge for today, but it was constructed over 30 years ago. This is Phoebe our Director/tour guide/fearless leader. (in some ways she reminds me of miss Judy)

We were able to go to the top of the tower that was looming above the park and we did not have to climb any stares :D

There was a giant elevator that took all 22 of us up right to the top! Yay!

The day was cold and snowy so Phoebe told us that we could not see much. Despite “not being able to see much” it was an amazing vew.

I loved the way you could see the park from above. It reminded me of a spider’s web. It seemed to be stretched and pushed and pulled all at the same time. While all of this is going on and despite the way it looks, there is not cloth. The roof is made of metal and a type of glass.

The buildings are walled in by glass giving you the feeling that you are in a tent or an open building.

More fun things to come soon......I really hope they will be soon.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Today we made a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. It was a go hike up to the top of the Mt. (about 30 min) but it was a amazing view at the top. The Castle is in a city outside Munich, we took the train. That was fun :) One more check mark on my list of things I wanted to do in my life time; ride a train in Europe. Sorry this is so short. The days have been really long and the I-net is slow. I hope to post more photos soon. This is a really fast panography that I made of the view from the castle. If you look at the big photo on the link above it is the same view but with out all the snow.

The view the morning we left was breath taking.

When we arrived we were met by workers from the Joy House, where we stayed for the week.

The people of Haiti are amazing. They have seen and live in circumstances that many Americans can not ever really imagine.

The believers in Haiti have faith that has been tested, and through it all they love and

honor God.

On Sunday our student minister preached and asked the people of the church "why does God let bad things happen to good people?" No one from the church said anything negative. Everyone said that bad things happen so that we will be closer to God, or so we can grow in Christ.

When bad things happen to me or people that I love I always say, "O, we live in a fallen world". I do not look for the good in it of think that God is helping me through this but the believers I met in Haiti see this. They understand God so much better than I do.

They see that He is the God of their city and He is the King of these people.

We had a wonderful time seeing family and seeing what our newly marred sister has been up to in her new little world.
It was great to spend time with our cousins and it was once again crazy to have 24 people in one house. The back yard was filled with kids when the sun came up, until the sun went down. If by chance it was vacant it would be because there were four or five pans of chicken nuggets on the stove and the big stack of paper plats with a bigger bottle of hot sauce on the table.

It has been so cold! All of the fountains were frozen at school this morning, they more than frozen a little they are solid. There were also chunks of ice on the ground before I went into class and they were still there when I came out, not looking like they were going to start think about melting. So with all of this talk about the cold I thought it would be encouraging to see that it will not be like this forever. Before we know it we will get to pull out our favorite sandals and flip flops :o)

yaY! We are here! We go to the Folk School yesterday and we were both really happy.

The first class that little bro had was wood working, then he had magic class. He learned a really cool new trick!
His next class was corn husk dolls. I love the doll that he started today. (The class will finish the doll tomorrow)
The last class of the day for little brother was Indian Art and Heritage. They made a little craft and listened to a story or two.

Then to end the day we went to "Clays" and sat on the bench out side to ate a ice cream cone. It has been a great day.

At the school where I have learned so much about blacksmithing there is a lot going on right now. They are building a long awaited addition the blacksmithing shop. It will be all timber framed which means, no nails. I have been keeping up with what is going on by the schools blog. You know, there is this thing that happens sometimes. It has been happening to me a lot lately and when I tell my Uncle about it he always says, "That's just life in the real world," or "That's life in the fast lane." Well, I guess that my life has been real and fast for the last few months/weeks because so many things have happend that I have no control over that I did not want to happen. Things that I think are "not cool!" Like the slow adoption process and the fact that our little boy's Visa and Passport say that he is a girl.(So he cannot come home till that is fixed.) In all of these things I know that I should see them as things that have "come to pass," and in a few months will be "all good," but I have thought that before and then new bumps come up.

In all of this I think that God is trying to show me it does not matter what is going on in my life, good things or things that I see as not so good, He is the same. Meaning, I should always trust Him the same as I do in the good times. One day we will all be home together and, "for one minute there will be peace." But right know, "this is not that minute."

Woud you please pray that our little boy's passport and Visa will be fixed so they can come home soon. Thank you all of your prayers in the past~ We will be togther soon I know it......it will be in God's time rather than mine.

We got a little crazy~

Over spring break I got to go and see my cousins and my sister in FL. It was a great time to spend time with them and be a part of their everyday life for a week. God has blessed me so much with so many people that love me and love Him, whether they are little people or big people. The thing that makes us all the same is that the Lord has made us all and He loves us all the same. This love is not one that will ever fade it is one that will always be.

We had such an Amazing weekend! It was a surprise trip. We went to see Family on Friday night and came back on Monday. God blessed our time together and we had so much fun! We also got to see Sissies new house. God has really Blessed her.
.........And (drum roll please)....When we got home what do you think was in the mail box! The approval from CIS saying we can bring two little ones into the US!!! God is so good. :0)

I found an article about Andrew Tremble in a magazine that my Grandpa gave to Mama. Franklin Graham had a crusade in Belfast and Mr. Trimble was there to speak. Mr. Trimble plays rugby for Ireland and he is really good. He has got lots of caps, scored tons of tries and.........lots of other really great things that I don't really know what they mean. But what I do know and understand is that he loves the Lord. He reminds me of Eric Liddell, the way that he is an Amazing athlete but he gives all of the glory to the Lord. Hey, sorry that it has been so long since I last posted.

To answer the Q's That you asked,

The leaf was made from mild steel

The colors that are in it at the first point are make by the fire and then are still there when it cools

It took me about 4 hours to get the finished product

The last steps that I took to make the leaf were rolling the stem applying the brass and oiling and waxing it.

This is what we are planning to make in the Blacksmith shop this week ~
It may be a little hard to see.....It will be a 18 by2 26 inch wall panel.

We started by making our design. Then we started making test pieces to make sure things are going to work like we want them to. Also, we each are working on something that we have never done before or something we are not good at. We also made hand tools that the shop did not have that we will need to make our piece.

There are only four people in the class including the teacher so there is lots of one on one time.

We harvested honey this week. These are some pics of the process.

The bees make the honey.
We "uncap" the trays that have been sealed off with Bees wax.
Next the trays are put into a spinner where the honey is spun out.
When the bottom of the spinner is full, it is then drained and you get every last drop!
Now you fill the jars and the honey is ready to sell.
And you can use what is left! They say that it makes a good face wash~

The really amazing music class provided the music for the night~

Lots of people that know what they were doing and some who did not have a clue~ ( I was in the latter group) The funny thing that happened to night was........ I did not know what I was doing and the guy that asked me to dance one time did not know what he was really doing ether and this was one of the headrest dances.......(I bet you can guess what happened)....Ya we were lost for just about all of the dance we got the last set right. (a dance it about ten to fifteen min long) It was really funny and a little embarrassing but I think I will get the hang of it in time.

Well, as you can see, I got here safe and sound. All of the people that I have met today have been really nice. The lady that checked me in was so nice and told me lots of stuff to help me know what would be going on while I am here. All of the work/studys are really nice also.
I have seen lots of people that I met here before, which is really cool. And they remember me also. (which I hope is a good thing) Oh, something that will be happening this week is a Contra Dance each night. There is a "Dance musicians class" this week, so they are going to be playing for the dances each night.

My first day in the woods

I have wanted to work in the woods with Daddy since I was a little kid, and to day was my first day.

I got to drive the skidder this morning....well at least for a hour or two.
Just when I was getting the hang of it I went into the pit to drop a skid and something did not seem right. I looked behind me and I did not see the top of one of the back tire but the side of it. It had fallen OFF!!! When Daddy saw what happened he just laughed and said that they were waiting for that to happen. That is just my luck! Daddy said that the axle was week and they knew that it would happen sooner or later. I guess that they just took the old saying literally and "ran it till the wheels fell off"
